2010 CEP Grant
The Fresno Arts Council (FAC) announces grant applications available under
the Community Enrichment Program (CEP). A total of not more than $200,000 will be awarded to Fresno non-profit arts and cultural organizations to provide activities and programs for the general public that advances the Cultural Plan
for Fresno.
CEP grants are awarded for the period of September 1, 2010 to August 31,
2011. This year, CEP grants will be awarded in the Grant Divisions outlined
on page 1 of this document. Final reports for the 2010-2011 CEP funded
projects are due by September 30, 2011.
Deadline for submission of application is July 16, 2010; 4:00 PM.
Eligible Organizations
All of the following are required:
- Non-profit organization under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended;
- Each organization can apply only once during this funding period;
- Primary purpose of the organization is to provide for the general enlightenment and entertainment of the public through the production, presentation, exhibition, advancement, or preservation of art, music, theater, spoken word, dance, history, literature, physical sciences, natural sciences, or natural history;
- Organization must have its principal office within the Authority Boundaries (see page 15) and conduct the majority of its activities within the State of California, and shall principally benefit the residents within the Authority Boundaries; and
- All project activity, including public events must take place within the Authority Boundaries.
Ineligible Organizations
Religious organizations, cable communications systems and any organization that does not meet requirements 1 through 5 above.
Grant Divisions
Grants are available in the following divisions:
- Capital Development: To organizations to renovate, adapt and/or equip community cultural/science/history facilities. Requires facility ownership, or a five-year minimum lease agreement.
- Community Arts: To projects that promote the arts and involve social service
agencies, police, parks, recreation centers, libraries, schools, community centers, outdoor
facilities, etc. The intent of this category is to develop programs which expand the arts
to:
- new audiences at reduced cost or free of charge to the public, and
- facilities (outside of traditional institutions) at reduced cost or free of charge to the public. Possible venues may include city parks, park fences, park/outdoor theaters, traveling exhibitions, traveling performances within the community, your own facility, school workshops, etc.
